The Warranty Trap: How My $189 Glasses Turned into a $130 Nightmare 📉
I'm writing this as a warning to other parents. My experience has been a complete nightmare, and I feel compelled to share it after another infuriating call with customer service. To put it simply, this place is the worst. I've ordered glasses with added warranty and needed a replacement due to the frame breaking and each time… they tell me my choice of frame is out of stock and I will therefore be receiving a store credit plus a small %… How do I end up with a cheaper and lighter pair than the previous? I'm so tired of dealing with this crap… my order I started at like 189 now it's somewhere around 130 a total joke and robbery. I had to call them to try and sort this mess out once and for all.
Customer: I'm calling about my warranty replacement, again. My son's frame broke, and just like last time, I'm being told the original is out of stock and I have to take a store credit. This is unacceptable. CS Rep: I'm very sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing. I can certainly understand your frustration. Could you please provide me with your order number so I can look into this for you? Customer: It’s [Order Number]. But it's the same story every time. I paid $189, and with your credits and deductibles, my value is now down to $130. You're forcing me to accept cheaper products. CS Rep: I see the history here, and I sincerely apologize for this repeated issue. Our policy is to offer store credit when a frame is discontinued. I can add an extra 10% to your credit for the inconvenience. Customer: An extra 10% doesn't fix the problem that I'm losing money on a warranty I paid for. You haven't gotten a single order right. This is a terrible system. CS Rep: I understand your position, and I have documented your feedback for our management team to review the policy. I truly am sorry we couldn't provide a better solution for you today.
